Well, I guess I never did update my blog with all the details of what went down on my first Ironman... Basically, it was long and I finished...with mild pain...nothing too horrible...clearly as I am signed up for Ironteam 2009. Huzzah!
I'll be mentoring and co-web captain this year and yesterday the mentors, training captains and coaches met for a training session and to hammer out our expectations of the season with new old Coach Wayne. Wayne coached Ironteam for 6 years, took two off, reassessed his coaching style and is back with Ironteam. Yesterday's meeting was exciting and scary. Exciting because this season is going to be phenomenal and scary because Coach Wayne is gonna be tough...on the staff as well as the participants.
What looks good for this season is there will be less mandatory workouts on the calendar but the amount of time spend training will not change. Basically I'll be MIA every Wednesday for 3 hours and every Saturday for 7 hours.
What looks bad for this season? We have no San Francisco participants yet! If you are at all interested in Ironteam please check out an info meeting. You know you want to!!
